SignGraphix Offers AIA/CES Registered Course on Architectural Sign Programs
Farmington Hills, MI (June 9, 2011) — SignGraphix, Inc., a provider of architectural signage for image, identity, and wayfinding solutions, has been licensed to present “Architectural Sign Programs,” a registered course of the Continuing Education Service of the American Institute of Architects (AIA/CES).
SignGraphix, based in Farmington Hills, MI, now offers the course to architects in five states — Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin — at their locations.
Registered architects belonging to the AIA (www.aia.org) must complete 18 hours of continuing education per year to remain in good standing and renew their membership. AIA/CES (www.aiaces.org) supervises these educational activities, both for its members and state licensing boards.
Architectural Sign Programs (AIA/CES course number IDNTA-01-A) is a one-hour course providing participants with 1.0 AIA/CES credits in the HSW (Health, Safety, and Welfare category) Learning Unit.
Identia (www.identiasigns.com), an approved AIA/CES Platform Course Provider, developed the Architectural Sign Programs course, and has licensed SignGraphix to present it in the East North Central Region. Identia is a division of Whitney Veigas Architectural Products, Inc. (www.whitneyveigas.com) of Needham. MA.
The course is designed to help architects understand the importance of signage to their projects’ overall success. It covers the primary tasks involved in designing and implementing architectural signs. The course also describes common pitfalls in specifying and documenting sign programs, and offers strategies for overcoming these issues.
To become licensed to present the course, SignGraphix was required to demonstrate their understanding of the process by which architectural signs are planned, designed, specified, fabricated, and installed. Identia certified SignGraphix’ knowledge of signage materials and construction documents. SignGraphix also showed their thorough grasp of the course content and ability to present it professionally, to AIA/CES standards.
More information about the Architectural Sign Programs course, including how to arrange a presentation, can be found at www.signgraphix.net/ASP.
