A Complete Turnkey Signage SolutionWhen St. Mary Mercy Hospital enlisted SignGraphix to revamp its exterior and interior signage, the 304-bed acute-care facility in Livonia had just become part of the Trinity Health system, and “Mercy” was added to its name. Its signs thus needed to reflect this new identity and affiliation. There were also concerns with St. Mary Mercy’s wayfinding system. Through incremental changes over the years, the hospital’s signage had become inconsistent. There were, for example, differences between the signs directing visitors as they entered the hospital’s grounds and the signs marking the actual hospital entrances. Visitors tended to get lost, and often interrupted the busy hospital staff to ask for directions. SignGraphix’ response: a complete turnkey signage solution. The SignGraphix team planned, designed, and installed a comprehensive new identity and wayfinding system, and obtained municipal approvals for design variances. The value of St. Mary Mercy’s new signage has been felt immediately. Patients and visitors now get directly where they need to be, so they’re more relaxed and satisfied with their hospital experience.
