A Value-Added Signage Resource

A few miles north of Detroit, on both sides of a major Michigan highway, Oakland County’s main Service Center sprawls over 538 acres. The complex’s 100+ structures serve more than 30 county departments and total over 1.5 million square feet of interior space. The buildings include courthouses, a jail, medical clinics, a credit union, executive offices, childcare facilities, and more.

On a campus this immense, signage issues arise nearly everyday. These challenges involve far more than just sign maintenance; in fact, the Service Center has required value-added signage consulting on an ongoing basis. For over a decade, the county has met these needs with the help of SignGraphix, its primary signage resource.

The SignGraphix team implemented the master plan for the center’s interior and exterior signage, including two full-campus maps. At the county’s Little Oaks Child Development Center, the company provided a start-to-finish signage solution — from planning and design through installation. And for a three-level county courthouse, SignGraphix devised and implemented a complete wayfinding system.
